Responsibilities
- Prepare and organize examination rooms for patient visits, ensuring all instruments and supplies are sterilized and ready for use.
- Assist physicians and healthcare providers during examinations and minor procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
- Collect and prepare laboratory specimens for testing, including blood draws and urinalysis, adhering to strict safety protocols.
- Manage electronic health records (EHR) accurately, documenting patient vitals, medical history, and treatment plans in real-time.
- Perform basic administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, verifying insurance coverage, and handling patient inquiries.
- Administer medications and injections as directed by the provider, strictly following state and federal regulations.
Qualifications
- Current state certification as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or equivalent.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
- Strong proficiency in Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a focus on patient care.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume medical environment.
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree in Medical Assisting preferred.
