Responsibilities
- Perform patient intake and obtain vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, weight, etc.) prior to provider examinations.
- Prepare patients for examination and assist providers during clinical procedures.
- Assist with phlebotomy and laboratory specimen collection and processing.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records using our Electronic Health Records (EHR) system.
- Coordinate patient scheduling, referrals, and prescription refills.
- Ensure the examination rooms are clean, stocked, and sanitized according to health and safety protocols.
- Communicate effectively with patients, answering questions and providing instructions.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
- Certification (CMA, RMA, NCMA) preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) and computer systems.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a patient-centered approach.
- Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment.
- Experience in a family practice or outpatient setting is a plus.
