Responsibilities
- Perform Clinical Duties: Assist physicians and nurses with patient examinations, prepare treatment rooms, and sterilize medical instruments.
- Patient Interaction: Greet patients, verify demographics, and maintain a welcoming, professional environment throughout their visit.
- Vital Signs & Admin: Accurately measure and record vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, weight) and update electronic health records (EHR) efficiently.
- Phlebotomy & Lab: Collect blood samples and perform basic lab tests as directed by the provider.
- Medication Support: Prepare and administer medications under the direct supervision of a licensed healthcare professional.
- Inventory Management: Monitor supply levels and assist in ordering medical supplies and equipment.
- Emergency Response: Handle patient inquiries and assist in emergency situations as required by protocol.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) certification required.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a clinical setting preferred; new graduates with externship experience are encouraged to apply.
- Licensure: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) is mandatory.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with patients of all ages.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in using Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems and medical software.
- Professionalism: Strong attention to detail, empathy, and a strong commitment to patient privacy and confidentiality (HIPAA compliant).
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program is a plus.
