Responsibilities
- Perform patient vitals, including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration monitoring.
- Assist physicians during examinations and procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
- Prepare patients for procedures, including EKGs, phlebotomy, and minor surgeries.
- Manage patient records and electronic health records (EHR) with strict adherence to HIPAA regulations.
- Administer medications and injections as prescribed by licensed healthcare providers.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and staff to ensure accurate medical history collection.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sterile clinical environment.
Qualifications
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) certification required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association.
- Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience in a hospital or outpatient setting preferred.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
- Proficiency in computer systems and electronic health record software.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient empathy.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.
