Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examination by assisting with exam rooms, sterilizing equipment, and obtaining vital signs.
- Perform basic laboratory tests and prepare specimens for analysis under physician supervision.
- Assist physicians during examinations and procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
- Manage patient records, including updating electronic health records (EHR) and filing paperwork accurately.
- Administer medications and injections as directed by the provider and according to state regulations.
- Coordinate patient follow-up appointments and communicate with patients via phone and email.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment for patients and staff.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, NCMA, or equivalent) required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a clinical or outpatient setting preferred.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a patient-centered approach.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and electronic medical record systems.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy.
