Responsibilities
- Greet and Check-In: Welcome patients warmly and manage the check-in process efficiently to reduce wait times.
- Rooming Patients: Prepare exam rooms, sterilize equipment, and escort patients to their providers for examinations.
- Vital Signs: Accurately measure and record patient vital signs, including blood pressure, weight, height, and temperature.
- Assist Providers: Perform basic clinical tasks and assist physicians and nurse practitioners during examinations and procedures.
- Administrative Tasks: Update patient charts, handle insurance verification, process payments, and schedule follow-up appointments.
- Specimen Collection: Collect and prepare lab specimens for testing, ensuring strict adherence to safety protocols.
- Inventory Management: Monitor and restock exam room supplies and medication carts to ensure readiness.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current CMA (Certified Medical Assistant) or RMA (Registered Medical Assistant) certification.
- CPR/BLS: Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of recent experience in a clinical or medical office setting.
- Flexibility: Willingness to work flexible shifts, including evenings and weekends to meet patient demand.
- Communication: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient comfort.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems (e.g., Epic, AthenaHealth).
- Attention to Detail: Ability to follow instructions precisely and maintain accurate medical records.
