Responsibilities
- Patient Intake: Greet patients warmly, verify insurance information, and accurately record vital signs and medical history.
- Clinical Support: Assist physicians during examinations and procedures, ensuring a smooth patient flow.
- Medication Administration: Prepare and administer medications as directed by providers, strictly adhering to safety protocols.
- Lab Work: Collect and process blood samples and other lab specimens for diagnostic testing.
- Documentation: Update and maintain electronic health records (EHR) with precision and confidentiality.
- Infection Control: Maintain a sterile environment and adhere to strict hygiene and safety standards.
- Communication: Effectively communicate with patients, families, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
Qualifications
- Certification: Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program (CMA, RMA, or NCMA) required.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience in a hospital or outpatient setting preferred.
- Licensure: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in electronic health records (EHR) systems and computer applications.
- Communication: Exceptional interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
- Compassion: Strong ability to interact with patients from diverse backgrounds with empathy and professionalism.
- Regulatory: Deep understanding of HIPAA regulations and patient privacy laws.
