Responsibilities
- Patient Care: Greet patients, verify demographics, and prepare them for examinations by taking vital signs and medical histories.
- Clinical Support: Assist physicians and nurse practitioners during exams and procedures, ensuring a smooth workflow.
- Laboratory Tasks: Collect and process laboratory specimens, perform basic diagnostic tests (e.g., EKG, urinalysis), and maintain accurate records of test results.
- Medication Management: Administer medications as directed by providers and accurately document patient responses.
- Administrative Duties: Manage patient charts, schedule appointments, and handle insurance verifications efficiently.
- Infection Control: Strictly adhere to all health and safety protocols to ensure a sterile environment for patients and staff.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or NCMA) required.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a clinical or medical office setting preferred.
- Licensure: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a patient-centric approach.
- Attention to Detail: Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
