Responsibilities
- Patient Care: Perform patient intake, vitals checks, and prepare patients for examinations by physicians or nurse practitioners.
- Clinical Procedures: Assist providers with minor procedures, administer injections, and perform phlebotomy as needed.
- Administrative Support: Manage patient charts in our Electronic Health Records (EHR) system, schedule appointments, and handle insurance verification.
- Laboratory Support: Collect and process lab specimens accurately and in a timely manner.
- Compliance: Adhere to strict HIPAA regulations and hospital safety protocols to ensure patient privacy and safety.
- Communication: Act as a liaison between patients and the clinical team, answering questions and providing clear instructions.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or NCMA) preferred.
- Licensure: Current BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS certifications required.
- Experience: 1-2 years of clinical experience in a physician practice or clinic setting.
- Skills: Proficiency with medical software (Epic, Athenahealth, or similar) is highly desirable.
- Communication: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients of all backgrounds.
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program is a plus.
