Responsibilities
- Perform patient intake, vitals collection, and medical history assessments accurately and efficiently.
- Prepare patients for examinations by assisting providers with examinations and procedures.
- Assist with diagnostic testing, including phlebotomy, EKGs, and basic lab work.
- Manage patient charts using Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems, ensuring documentation is complete and up-to-date.
- Coordinate patient appointments, manage follow-up calls, and handle incoming inquiries professionally.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sterilized clinical environment following all infection control protocols.
- Provide patient education regarding medications, treatments, and preventative care plans.
Qualifications
- Certification as a CMA (Certified Medical Assistant) or RMA (Registered Medical Assistant) required.
- Current CA Medical Assistant License (or eligibility to obtain) is mandatory.
- Certification in BLS (Basic Life Support) for Healthcare Providers is required.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience in a physician practice or outpatient setting preferred.
- Strong computer proficiency with EMR/EHR systems (e.g., Epic, AthenaHealth).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a focus on patient empathy.
- Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
