Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examinations, take vital signs, and document medical histories accurately
- Assist physicians with clinical procedures including injections, EKGs, and wound care
- Manage electronic health records (EHR) systems ensuring HIPAA compliance
- Perform phlebotomy and laboratory specimen processing
- Administer medications under provider supervision and monitor patient responses
- Schedule patient appointments, coordinate referrals, and handle insurance verification
- Maintain clean and organized exam rooms and medical equipment
Qualifications
- Graduate of accredited Medical Assistant program or equivalent certification (CMA, RMA, or NCMA)
- Minimum 1 year of clinical experience in ambulatory care setting
- Current BLS/CPR certification and valid California phlebotomy license
- Proficiency in EHR systems (Epic, Athena, or similar)
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and clinical workflows
- Excellent communication skills and ability to multitask in fast-paced environment
- Pass background check and pre-employment health screening
