Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examination by assisting with draping, positioning, and obtaining medical history.
- Perform basic clinical duties including taking vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, pulse), EKGs, and basic laboratory testing.
- Administer injections, medications, and vaccines as directed by physicians or RNs.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient medical records and electronic health records (EHR).
- Greet patients and manage the front desk reception area to ensure a smooth patient flow and excellent customer service.
- Assist physicians during examinations and procedures as needed.
- Prepare treatment rooms for patient visits, ensuring cleanliness and safety protocols are met.
Qualifications
- Certificate or Associate degree in Medical Assisting from an accredited institution.
- Current MA Certification (CMA, RMA, or RNC) required.
- CPR/BLS Certification must be current.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient care.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
- Experience with electronic health records (Epic, Cerner) is preferred.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
