Responsibilities
- Perform clinical duties including vital signs, EKGs, injections, wound care, and specimen collection
- Assist providers with examinations, procedures, and minor surgical interventions
- Manage patient flow, room preparation, and equipment sterilization
- Document patient encounters accurately in Epic EHR systems
- Provide patient education on treatment plans, medications, and preventive care
- Coordinate referrals, lab results, and follow-up appointments
- Maintain sterile environments and OSHA compliance protocols
- Collaborate with RNs, physicians, and specialists to optimize care delivery
Qualifications
- Current California Medical Assistant certification (CMA or RMA)
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience in hospital or urgent care setting
- Proficiency in venipuncture, phlebotomy, and point-of-care testing
- BLS/CPR certification with willingness to obtain ACLS
- Associate degree in Medical Assisting or equivalent certification
- Strong knowledge of HIPAA regulations and patient privacy laws
- Experience with Epic EHR systems preferred
- Ability to multitask in fast-paced emergency and outpatient environments
