Responsibilities
- Conduct patient intakes, including recording medical history and taking vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, weight).
- Assist physicians and nurse practitioners during examinations and procedures.
- Prepare treatment rooms for patient visits, ensuring all instruments and supplies are stocked and sanitized.
- Collect and process laboratory specimens accurately and in compliance with regulatory standards.
- Administer medications, injections, and immunizations as directed by the provider.
- Manage patient flow to minimize wait times and enhance the overall clinic experience.
- Update and maintain patient charts in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.
Qualifications
- Certification as a CMA (Certified Medical Assistant) or RMA (Registered Medical Assistant) is required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- 1-3 years of experience in a clinical or outpatient setting is preferred.
- Proficiency with Electronic Health Records (EHR) software (e.g., Epic, AthenaHealth, Cerner).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient privacy and confidentiality.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
