Responsibilities
- Patient Care: Perform accurate patient intake, measure vital signs, and record medical history.
- Clinical Support: Assist physicians and nurses during examinations and procedures.
- Administrative Duties: Manage patient charts, update Electronic Health Records (EHR), and handle insurance verification.
- Lab & Testing: Prepare patients for lab tests, collect specimens, and perform basic point-of-care testing.
- Facility Maintenance: Ensure exam rooms are stocked, sanitized, and organized per infection control standards.
- Communication: Effectively communicate with patients and families regarding treatment plans and instructions.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current CMA (Certified Medical Assistant) or RMA (Registered Medical Assistant) certification is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in a clinical or hospital setting.
- License: Valid BLS (Basic Life Support) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program is a plus.
- Skills: Proficiency in Electronic Health Records (EHR) software and strong computer literacy.
- Soft Skills: Exceptional interpersonal skills, empathy, and the ability to work well under pressure.
