Responsibilities
- Perform patient vitals (blood pressure, heart rate, temperature) and prepare patients for examination by the provider.
- Assist physicians and nurse practitioners during clinical procedures and patient visits.
- Manage front desk operations including scheduling appointments, verifying insurance, and maintaining patient records.
- Administer medications and injections as directed by licensed personnel and according to strict protocols.
- Collect and process laboratory specimens and perform basic point-of-care testing (e.g., urine dipsticks, glucose).
- Provide exceptional customer service by answering patient inquiries and addressing concerns with empathy and professionalism.
- Ensure the examination rooms are clean, stocked, and organized for the next patient.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
- Certification as a CMA (Certified Medical Assistant) or RMA (Registered Medical Assistant) is highly preferred.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association.
- 1-2 years of experience in a clinical or medical office setting is preferred but not required for exceptional candidates.
- Strong computer proficiency with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including potential weekends or evenings.
