Responsibilities
- Patient Intake: Greet patients warmly, verify demographic and insurance information, and prepare them for examination.
- Clinical Support: Assist providers during patient exams, prepare exam rooms with necessary supplies, and perform venipuncture/phlebotomy as needed.
- Vital Signs & Testing: Accurately measure vital signs, conduct EKGs, and assist with basic lab procedures.
- Administrative Duties: Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR), manage appointment scheduling, and handle patient correspondence.
- Compliance: Adhere to all HIPAA regulations and clinic protocols to ensure patient confidentiality and safety.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current CMA, RMA, or MA certification (or equivalent) required.
- Experience: 1-2 years of clinical experience in a medical office setting preferred.
- Licensure: Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- California License: Active California Medical Assistant license or ability to obtain within 60 days.
- Skills: Strong interpersonal communication skills and proficiency in EMR systems (e.g., Epic, AthenaHealth).
