Responsibilities
- Perform accurate vital signs, medical history reviews, and patient intake assessments in a timely manner.
- Assist physicians and nurse practitioners during examinations and procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
- Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and maintain strict infection control standards.
- Perform basic laboratory duties, including phlebotomy and EKGs, with precision and care.
- Manage patient records electronically, ensuring all documentation is accurate and HIPAA-compliant.
- Coordinate patient appointments, referrals, and follow-up care to ensure seamless healthcare delivery.
Qualifications
- Certificate or Diploma in Medical Assisting (CMA, RMA, or equivalent) is required.
- Current Louisiana State Medical Assistant license (or eligibility to obtain one).
- BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS certifications are highly preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient empathy.
- Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems and medical software.
- Ability to multi-task effectively in a busy clinical setting while maintaining a professional demeanor.
