Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examination by taking vital signs, recording medical history, and updating charts.
- Assist physicians and nursing staff during medical procedures and examinations.
- Perform basic laboratory tests, administer medications, and prepare injections as directed.
- Explain treatment procedures, diet restrictions, and other medical information to patients to ensure understanding and compliance.
- Maintain patient records and schedule appointments accurately using EHR systems.
- Adhere to all HIPAA regulations and strict safety protocols.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure efficient patient flow.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or NCMA) required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a patient-centric approach.
- Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment.
- Proficiency with Electronic Health Record (EHR) software.
- Previous experience in a clinical or outpatient setting preferred.
