Responsibilities
- Patient Care: Obtain patient vitals (blood pressure, temperature, weight) and record them accurately in the electronic health record (EHR).
- Clinical Support: Prepare examination rooms for physicians and nurses, ensuring all instruments and equipment are sterilized and ready for use.
- Procedures: Assist providers with minor procedures, wound care, and perform phlebotomy as required.
- Admin Duties: Schedule patient appointments, verify insurance information, and manage incoming calls with a professional demeanor.
- Lab Work: Collect and process laboratory specimens according to strict quality control standards.
- Education: Educate patients on medication instructions and post-care procedures.
- Compliance: Adhere to all hospital protocols, HIPAA regulations, and safety guidelines.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current certification as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) is required.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a clinical or hospital setting preferred.
- Licensure: Current BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications.
- Skills: Proficient in Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with patients of all backgrounds.
