Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examinations and assist providers during clinical procedures
- Administer medications, injections, and immunizations under physician supervision
- Perform EKGs, phlebotomy, and basic laboratory tests
- Maintain accurate patient records using EMR systems (Epic preferred)
- Sterilize equipment and ensure exam rooms are fully stocked
- Provide patient education on treatment plans and preventive care
- Coordinate with nursing staff to optimize clinic workflows
Qualifications
- Current and valid California Medical Assistant certification
- Minimum 2 years clinical experience in a hospital setting
- BLS/CPR certification from AHA or equivalent
- Proficiency in venipuncture and EKG procedures
- Strong knowledge of HIPAA compliance protocols
- Associate's degree or certificate in Medical Assisting
- Ability to multitask in high-pressure emergency situations
- Exceptional communication skills with diverse patient populations
