Responsibilities
- Perform patient intake, vitals, and prepare patients for examinations under the direct supervision of the provider.
- Administer injections, perform EKGs, and assist with minor medical procedures.
- Communicate effectively with patients to explain procedures and collect health history information.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient medical records and electronic health records (EHR).
- Coordinate lab specimens and ensure proper handling and delivery to the laboratory.
- Assist with inventory management of medical supplies and equipment.
- Ensure the examination room is clean, sanitized, and organized for patient safety.
Qualifications
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association is mandatory.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience in a primary care or specialty practice setting is preferred.
- Strong computer skills with proficiency in Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced medical environment.
- Must be detail-oriented with a strong focus on patient privacy and confidentiality.
