Responsibilities
- Perform routine vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, heart rate) and patient screenings accurately.
- Assist physicians and advanced practice providers during examinations and minor procedures.
- Prepare examination rooms with necessary medical instruments and ensure strict sterilization protocols are followed.
- Greet patients warmly, manage check-in/check-out processes, and maintain a clean reception area.
- Manage patient flow efficiently to minimize wait times and ensure optimal clinic operations.
- Assist with basic laboratory tests, EKGs, and vaccinations as directed.
- Handle insurance verification and assist with patient billing inquiries.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or NCMA) is required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- 1-2 years of clinical experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and HIPAA privacy regulations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems is a plus.
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
