Responsibilities
- Perform clinical duties including vital signs, EKGs, injections, and specimen collection
- Prepare and maintain examination rooms, ensuring proper sterilization and equipment functionality
- Assist providers with patient examinations and minor procedures
- Manage patient flow and schedule coordination for weekend operations
- Document patient encounters accurately in EHR systems (Epic/EMR)
- Administer medications and treatments under provider supervision
- Provide patient education on treatment plans and preventive care
Qualifications
- Active Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, or NCMA)
- Minimum 2 years clinical experience in ambulatory care
- Proficiency with EHR systems and medical documentation
- Excellent communication skills and bedside manner
- BLS/CPR certification required
- Ability to work independently during weekend shifts (Sat-Sun 7am-7pm)
- Knowledge of HIPAA compliance and infection control protocols
- Associates degree in Medical Assisting or related field preferred
