Responsibilities
- Perform patient intake and obtain accurate medical histories and vitals.
- Assist physicians and advanced practice providers with examinations and procedures.
- Prepare examination rooms, ensuring they are stocked, clean, and fully equipped.
- Collect and process laboratory specimens, including phlebotomy and EKGs, following strict protocols.
- Administer medications and injections as directed by providers, verifying patient identity and allergies.
- Communicate test results and treatment plans clearly to patients and coordinate referrals to specialists.
- Maintain patient charts and electronic health records (EHR) with precision and confidentiality.
Qualifications
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) certification required.
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience in a medical office setting preferred.
- Strong proficiency in electronic health record systems (Epic, AthenaHealth, or similar).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on patient-centered care.
- Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Valid North Carolina driver's license and reliable transportation.
