Responsibilities
- Assist physicians and advanced practice providers with patient examinations and procedures.
- Accurately measure and record vital signs, including blood pressure, heart rate, and temperature.
- Perform phlebotomy and EKG procedures as required.
- Prepare examination rooms, sterilize equipment, and ensure a clean, safe environment for patients.
- Manage patient intake, update electronic health records (EHR), and verify insurance information.
- Provide patient education on medications, follow-up care, and preventative health measures.
- Maintain strict adherence to infection control protocols and HIPAA privacy standards.
Qualifications
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), or Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) required.
- Current, unencumbered Illinois state Medical Assistant license.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Previous experience in a clinical or outpatient setting is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a patient-centric approach.
- Ability to work weekends (Saturday and Sunday) on a rotating schedule.
- Proficiency in computer systems and Electronic Medical Records (EMR).
