Responsibilities
- Perform accurate patient intake, including vitals, weight, and medical history collection.
- Assist providers during examinations, procedures, and minor surgeries.
- Prepare examination rooms with necessary instruments and medical supplies.
- Perform phlebotomy and collect lab specimens following strict safety protocols.
- Manage and maintain Electronic Health Records (EHR) and documentation.
- Administer medications and injections as directed by providers.
- Communicate effectively with patients and families to ensure understanding of care plans.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or NCMA) required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Previous experience in a hospital or clinical setting preferred.
- Strong computer proficiency with EMR/EHR systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift patients or equipment as needed.
- Strong attention to detail and adherence to HIPAA regulations.
