Responsibilities
- Perform patient intake, accurately record vital signs, and prepare patients for examination by providers.
- Assist providers during clinical procedures, minor surgeries, and wellness exams with precision and care.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date Electronic Health Records (EHR) and ensure all documentation complies with privacy regulations.
- Prepare examination rooms with necessary medical instruments and supplies to ensure smooth clinic operations.
- Coordinate patient follow-up appointments, manage prescription refills, and communicate effectively with patients and families.
- Perform basic laboratory tests, assist with phlebotomy, and manage specimen collection.
- Handle front desk administrative duties as needed, including answering phones and greeting patients.
Qualifications
- Current Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, or NCMA) from an accredited institution.
- CPR/BLS certification (American Heart Association) required.
- Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience in a medical office setting preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient empathy and education.
- Must be available to work weekends (Saturday and Sunday) on a rotating schedule.
- Proficiency in electronic health record systems (Epic, Cerner, or AthenaHealth) is a plus.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs as required by the role.
