Responsibilities
- Patient Intake: Greet patients warmly, verify insurance information, and prepare them for examinations.
- Vital Signs & Assessments: Accurately measure and record vital signs, including blood pressure, heart rate, and temperature.
- Clinical Procedures: Assist providers with examinations, perform basic lab tests (phlebotomy), and administer EKGs as needed.
- Administrative Support: Manage electronic health records (EHR), update patient charts, and process billing information efficiently.
- Patient Education: Provide clear instructions regarding medications, post-procedure care, and lifestyle adjustments to patients and families.
- Inventory Management: Maintain cleanliness and stock medical supplies in exam rooms and the laboratory.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current CMA (Certified Medical Assistant) or RMA (Registered Medical Assistant) certification is required.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a hospital or clinical setting preferred.
- Availability: Must be available to work weekends (Saturday and Sunday) on a rotating or fixed schedule.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with patients and staff.
- Computer Literacy: Proficiency in using electronic health records systems (EHR) and basic computer applications.
- Licensure: BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required; ACLS preferred.
