Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and verify personal information and insurance details accurately.
- Prepare patients for examination by assisting with gowns and drapes, positioning them appropriately.
- Take and record vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, weight, and height.
- Assist providers with examinations and procedures, ensuring a smooth workflow.
- Administer medications, injections, or vaccines as directed by a licensed provider.
- Maintain clean and organized examination rooms and medical equipment.
- Document patient visits and medical histories into electronic health records (EHR) systems.
Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program (CMA, RMA, or MA equivalent).
- Certification or registration with a recognized body (e.g., AAMA, AMT) preferred.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- One year of clinical experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
- Strong computer skills with proficiency in Electronic Health Records (EHR) software.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with patients and staff.
- Ability to maintain strict patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
