Responsibilities
- Patient Care: Greet patients, verify insurance information, and prepare them for examinations or procedures by taking vital signs and medical histories.
- Clinical Support: Assist physicians and nurses during examinations, perform basic lab tests (e.g., EKGs, phlebotomy), and prepare specimens for analysis.
- Administrative Duties: Manage electronic health records (EHR), update patient charts, and schedule appointments accurately.
- Infection Control: Adhere to strict hygiene protocols and safety guidelines to maintain a sterile environment for patients and staff.
- Communication: Act as a liaison between patients and medical staff, answering questions and explaining treatment plans clearly.
- Inventory Management: Monitor and restock medical supplies and equipment to ensure clinical operations run smoothly.
Qualifications
- Certification: Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
- Licensure: Current CMA (Certified Medical Assistant) or RMA (Registered Medical Assistant) certification preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a clinical setting preferred.
- Skills: Proficient in Electronic Health Records (EHR) software and computer literacy.
