Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality patient care in accordance with hospital protocols and nursing standards
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans for assigned weekend shifts
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure seamless patient transitions
- Administer medications and treatments with precision and patient safety focus
- Document clinical observations and interventions accurately in electronic health records
- Respond promptly to emergency situations with critical thinking skills
- Mentor junior staff and contribute to weekend shift team cohesion
Qualifications
- Active RN license in Texas (or compact license)
- BSN degree preferred (ADN candidates with 2+ years experience considered)
- Minimum 1 year acute care experience in relevant specialty
- BLS and ACLS certifications required (PALS/NRP for specific units)
- Strong assessment skills and clinical judgment capabilities
- Proficiency in electronic health record systems (EPIC preferred)
- Ability to work independently during weekend shifts with minimal supervision
