Responsibilities
- Perform patient intake, obtain vital signs, and document medical histories accurately.
- Assist physicians and advanced practice providers with examinations and minor procedures.
- Prepare and maintain examination rooms and medical equipment to ensure infection control standards.
- Draw blood and collect specimens for laboratory testing according to established protocols.
- Manage patient records, schedule appointments, and coordinate referrals.
- Administer medications and injections under the direct supervision of a licensed provider.
- Provide compassionate patient education and support.
Qualifications
- Certificate or Diploma from an accredited Medical Assistant program (CMA, RMA, or NCMA certification preferred).
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association.
- Previous experience working in a hospital or clinical setting is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with patients and staff.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Proficiency with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems.
