Responsibilities
- Assist physicians with patient examinations, procedures, and diagnostic testing
- Administer medications, injections, and immunizations per physician protocols
- Perform phlebotomy, EKGs, and point-of-care laboratory testing
- Prepare exam rooms, sterilize equipment, and maintain inventory
- Document patient encounters accurately in EHR systems (EPIC experience preferred)
- Provide patient education on treatment plans and preventive care
- Coordinate referrals and communicate with specialty departments
- Manage front desk operations including scheduling and insurance verification
Qualifications
- Graduate of accredited Medical Assistant program or equivalent certification
- Current California Medical Assistant certification (CMA or RMA)
- Minimum 2 years clinical experience in outpatient or hospital setting
- Proficiency in venipuncture, EKG, and clinical procedures
- EPIC EHR system proficiency strongly preferred
- BLS/CPR certification (must maintain current)
- Excellent communication skills and cultural competency
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environment with multiple priorities
