Responsibilities
- Accurately code medical diagnoses and procedures using CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS systems
- Submit clean claims to insurance carriers and government payers (Medicare/Medicaid)
- Manage accounts receivable through follow-up on denied/underpaid claims
- Process patient statements and manage payment collections
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations and billing standards
- Collaborate with clinical teams to resolve billing discrepancies
- Generate monthly revenue cycle reports for leadership review
Qualifications
- 3+ years of medical billing experience in a clinical or hospital setting
- Certification (CPC, CCS-P, or similar) strongly preferred
- Proficiency in Epic, NextGen, or similar EHR billing modules
- Expert knowledge of insurance claim processes and payer guidelines
- Exceptional attention to detail and data entry accuracy
- Strong analytical skills for claim resolution
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
