Responsibilities
- Review and code medical services using CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10 systems
- Submit and track electronic claims to commercial and government payers
- Resolve claim denials and rejections through appeals and documentation
- Manage accounts receivable and patient billing inquiries
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA, CMS, and payer regulations
- Analyze billing reports to identify trends and improvement opportunities
- Collaborate with clinical staff to clarify documentation discrepancies
- Maintain accurate patient financial records in EHR systems
Qualifications
- Associate's degree in healthcare administration or related field
- 3+ years of medical billing experience in a clinical setting
- Certification (CPC, CMA, or CCS) strongly preferred
- Expertise in medical terminology, anatomy, and coding guidelines
- Proficiency in Epic, NextGen, or similar EHR systems
- Advanced knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payer policies
- Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving skills
