Responsibilities
- Perform venipunctures and capillary blood draws on patients of all ages with precision and care.
- Ensure accurate patient identification and specimen labeling according to strict laboratory standards.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including sterilization of equipment.
- Communicate effectively with patients to alleviate anxiety and explain procedures clearly.
- Accurately enter patient data into electronic health records (EHR) systems.
- Assist in inventory management of phlebotomy supplies and equipment.
- Adhere to all HIPAA regulations and safety protocols at all times.
Qualifications
- Current CPT1 certification or equivalent state licensure required.
- Previous experience in a clinical or outpatient setting preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent hand-eye coordination.
- Excellent communication skills and a compassionate bedside manner.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift patients when necessary.
- Basic computer literacy and familiarity with medical software.
