Responsibilities
- Process and submit clean claims to insurance companies and government payers
- Verify patient eligibility and benefits coverage
- Resolve claim denials and billing discrepancies
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA and billing regulations
- Use EHR/EMR systems for coding and documentation
- Communicate effectively with patients regarding billing inquiries
- Analyze aging reports and follow up on unpaid accounts
- Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure accurate coding
Qualifications
- 2+ years of medical billing experience required
- Certification (CPC, CPC-A, or CCS) preferred
- Proficiency in ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding
- Strong knowledge of insurance claim processes
- Experience with EHR/EMR systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner)
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Associate's degree in healthcare administration or related field
