Responsibilities
- Process and submit clean claims to insurance companies and government payers
- Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits
- Research and resolve claim denials and underpayments
- Maintain accurate patient billing records in EHR systems
- Adhere to HIPAA compliance and billing regulations
- Communicate effectively with providers and patients regarding billing inquiries
- Generate monthly reports on revenue cycle performance
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of medical billing experience
- Certification in medical billing (CPC, CBCS, or similar) preferred
- Proficiency in ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding
- Experience with EHR/EMR systems (Epic or NextGen preferred)
- Strong knowledge of insurance claim processes
- Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving skills
