Responsibilities
- Review and assign appropriate CPT/ICD-10 codes to medical services
- Submit electronic claims to insurance payers and follow up on outstanding accounts
- Handle patient billing inquiries with exceptional communication skills
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA and healthcare billing regulations
- Maintain accurate patient financial records in EMR systems
- Resolve claim denials and appeals efficiently
- Collaborate with clinical staff to clarify documentation discrepancies
Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Health Information Management or equivalent experience
- 2+ years of medical billing experience in a healthcare setting
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or CPC certification preferred
- Proficiency in medical billing software (e.g., Epic, Cerner)
- Strong knowledge of insurance claim processes and payer policies
