Responsibilities
- Process and submit accurate medical claims to insurance companies using ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes
- Verify patient insurance coverage and benefits prior to service delivery
- Resolve claim denials and billing discrepancies through systematic follow-up
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations and healthcare billing standards
- Generate monthly billing reports and analyze denial trends for process improvement
- Collaborate with providers to document services accurately for optimal reimbursement
- Manage patient payment plans and communicate financial responsibilities
Qualifications
- 3+ years of medical billing experience in a healthcare setting
- Proficiency in medical coding (CPC or CPC-A certification preferred)
- Expert knowledge of insurance claim processes and third-party payers
- Advanced skills in EHR systems (Epic or Cerner experience a plus)
- Strong analytical abilities to identify billing patterns and resolve issues
