Responsibilities
- Process and submit insurance claims to private payers and government programs (Medicare/Medicaid)
- Verify patient eligibility and benefits before service delivery
- Assign appropriate CPT/ICD-10 codes based on documentation
- Manage accounts receivable and follow up on claim denials
- Maintain HIPAA-compliant electronic health records
- Generate monthly reports for financial analysis
- Collaborate with clinical staff to resolve coding discrepancies
Qualifications
- 2+ years of medical billing experience required
- Certification (CPC, CPC-A, or CCS) preferred
- Proficiency in Epic or NextGen EHR systems
- Knowledge of CMS-1500 and UB-04 claim forms
- Strong understanding of insurance claim processes
- Excellent attention to detail and data entry skills
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
