Responsibilities
- Accurately code and bill medical procedures using ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS systems
- Verify insurance coverage and obtain pre-authorizations for services
- Manage accounts receivable and resolve billing discrepancies
- Communicate effectively with patients, providers, and insurance carriers
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA and healthcare billing regulations
- Analyze denial trends and implement corrective actions
- Utilize Epic EMR system for billing documentation
Qualifications
- 3+ years of medical billing experience in a clinical setting
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or CPC certification required
- Proficiency in medical terminology and coding guidelines
- Strong knowledge of insurance claim processes and payer requirements
- Experience with Epic EMR or similar healthcare software
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree preferred
