Responsibilities
- Accurately verify and code patient insurance information using ICD-10 and CPT guidelines.
- Submit and follow up on claims to insurance carriers (BlueCross, Medicare, etc.) to ensure timely reimbursement.
- Analyze denied or rejected claims and resubmit them with necessary corrections.
- Maintain accurate patient records and billing logs in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Communicate with patients regarding outstanding balances and payment plans.
- Collaborate with the billing team to identify trends and improve revenue cycle performance.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in medical billing or medical coding.
- Certification as a CPC, COC, or RHIT preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of electronic health records (EHR) systems.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to spot errors in complex data.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
