Responsibilities
- Verify and accurately enter patient demographics and insurance information into the billing system.
- Process medical claims electronically (CMS-1500 and UB-04) and follow up on outstanding claims.
- Review denied or rejected claims and resubmit with necessary corrections.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records and billing logs.
- Communicate with patients and insurance companies regarding billing inquiries and payment status.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly financial reports.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and company policies.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Basic computer proficiency and typing skills (30+ WPM).
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to learn medical billing software and coding standards.
- Previous experience in a healthcare setting is a plus but not required.
