Responsibilities
- Accurately code and submit medical claims using ICD-10 and CPT systems
- Verify patient insurance coverage and benefits before service delivery
- Manage accounts receivable and resolve billing discrepancies
- Communicate effectively with insurance providers and patients regarding claims
- Maintain HIPAA-compliant patient billing records
- Analyze denial trends and implement corrective actions
- Utilize provided specialized billing software for maximum efficiency
Qualifications
- Associate's degree or certification in medical billing/coding (required)
- 2+ years of medical billing experience in a healthcare setting
- Proficiency in medical billing software (Epic, Cerner, or equivalent)
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or CPC certification preferred
- Strong knowledge of insurance claim processes and regulations
- Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
