Responsibilities
- Accurately code medical diagnoses and procedures using ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS standards
- Submit clean claims to insurance companies and follow up on outstanding payments
- Resolve billing discrepancies through direct communication with providers and payers
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations and internal audit protocols
- Generate monthly reports on denial rates and collection metrics
- Train on new billing technologies and regulatory updates
- Collaborate with coding and patient accounts departments
Qualifications
- 3+ years of medical billing experience with insurance claim submission
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or CPC certification preferred
- Proficiency in medical billing software (e.g., Epic, Medisoft, or similar)
- Strong knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding systems
- Excellent analytical skills for claim resolution
- Ability to maintain HIPAA compliance in all communications
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree preferred
