Responsibilities
- Assess patient acuity using standardized triage protocols (ESI, Emergency Severity Index)
- Collaborate with physicians to prioritize cases and allocate resources efficiently
- Document patient encounters accurately in Epic EHR systems
- Provide education to patients and families regarding emergency care processes
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including specialists, social workers, and transport services
- Monitor department flow metrics to reduce wait times and improve patient satisfaction
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives for emergency services
Qualifications
- Current CA RN license with minimum 3 years emergency department experience
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
- Proficiency in electronic health record systems (Epic preferred)
- Exceptional communication skills with diverse patient populations
- Ability to work under pressure in high-volume settings
- BSN or higher degree preferred
- Experience with pediatric and geriatric triage protocols
