Responsibilities
- Process and submit insurance claims with 99% accuracy using Epic EMR
- Verify patient eligibility and benefits across PPO, HMO, and Medicare plans
- Resolve billing discrepancies through proactive insurance carrier communication
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA, CMS, and state regulations
- Analyze aging reports and implement denial prevention strategies
- Collaborate with clinical teams to document services accurately
- Generate monthly revenue cycle performance reports
Qualifications
- 3+ years of medical billing experience in outpatient settings
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or CPC credential required
- Expertise in CPT, ICD-10-CM, and HCPCS coding systems
- Advanced proficiency in Athenahealth or Epic EMR platforms
- Strong analytical skills for complex claim resolution
- Exceptional attention to detail with 0.5% error tolerance
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
