Responsibilities
- Accurately code medical diagnoses and procedures using ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS systems
- Submit electronic claims to insurance payers and track claim status
- Conduct thorough insurance verification and pre-authorization for services
- Resolve billing discrepancies and denials through effective follow-up
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations and billing standards
- Generate monthly reports on billing performance and revenue metrics
- Collaborate with clinical teams to ensure complete documentation
Qualifications
- 3+ years of medical billing experience in a healthcare setting
- Certification in CPC (Certified Professional Coder) or CCS-P strongly preferred
- Proficiency in medical billing software (e.g., Epic, Athena, or similar)
- Deep understanding of insurance claim processes and payer requirements
- Exceptional attention to detail and analytical skills
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment
